I know what you are going through. Our son is 27 and has/had problems with prescription drugs. Has not worked in over two years and needs to start taking responsibility.

as i read the above articles i feel so bad for the parents of these boys, having my daughter in muskegon river youth home currently, this is our first sign of hope in our child.her demons began at an early age, and genetically she is a high risk teen.may heavenly father bless all of the families who are dealing with this illness called addiction.may angels guide you and yours.........

Hello! My daughter is attending the clinic in Fresno and has been biking in from out of town. She has a health situation which would make living close to the clinic better for her for the time being. Does anyone have knowledge of a furnished room which could be rented on a weekly or monthly basis, preferably in a safe area on a busline? Pls. respond or call (805)383-3561. Thank you!

I am a recovering addict. I got clean at 26 and now know that if I had not been forced to stand on my own two feet I might still be using. Tough love is the way to sobriety. good luck and god bless

Peggy my heart goes out to you, I am in recovery from herion, over two years sober now...Is your daughter interested in any recovery groups (ie AA, or NA). My experience was that I could stay sober when confined but out in the world it was too much. I have joined a twelve step program. Maybe if your daughter is open to it you can give here a meeting guide or go with her to open meetings when she gets released. Troubled: sometimes when you just state what you need (to your dad) you begin to surrender to you disease and help comes. email me if you would like, peggy you too.

Rachel- Have you considered using the Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills training modules? I have used DBT for group therapy with eating disordered women and it works REALLY well. There's literature supporting this, too.

yes could you tell me of a places were i could go to speak with children about drugs being a user for over half my life and finally cleaning up and seeing the dangers and the effect it has on many aspects of your life i would like to speak to young kids in hopes to prevent them from using from seeing first hand how it can destroy your life could you please let me know of anything one I could contact for this please. thank you

Desperately in need of immediate help! My daughter has raised four children alone. The oldest boy (16 yrs)will be released from juvenile center in October. The 15 and 13 yr olds curse her, threaten to call the police if she attempts to reprimand them, threaten to physically hit her, and come and go as they please. My daughter has tried to get assistance from the police, but she is ignored. They say there is nothing they can do. Where can she go for help? My grandchildren need help! Is there a group home she can admit them to?

Dont give up please. I am a teen who has attemped things that are or only seem to be the only option there is. If you are reading this please keep me in mind because i am you! The song by good charllote, hold on, well thats one reason i am still here and alive because i took that song into serious consideration! It is and probley will still be hard, but you will make it through all the hard times, trust me....

I have been taking percreption drugs off and on for about one year. I do not go out looking for them i just take them when i get them from a friend two times a year, but i get about one hundred and take them 2 times a day until gone and i know thats a problem, its about to cost me the most important person in my life other then god, my partner that is over in Iraq. Im so scared and i want help before i loose more of my-self and it becomes a bigger problem in the future.

Hi,I have a special friend who is doing crack.she is in a house that does it and sells it.she is supposed to go for rehab or some counseling on the 15th of september.don"know if she will make it cause of the house she lives in but if she does i want to be their for her when she goes for help.love to be thier in therapy with her to understand things and to beable to help her out after she leaves that day.can i be in the same room with her.if so let me know via email.can i also have her arrested top make sure she goes if so how would you recommend i do it.she has asked me for help before she went to this house.she is scared to talk to me or anybody cause they are always around.thanks for your time.

I am a Hurricane survivor. I am without all my upper teeth because the V.A. Dental Clinic in N.O. pulled them in preparation to putting in a full upper denture and two partials in the bottom prior to Katrina. The impression has been taken and they were preparing my mouth to insert these dentures before Katrina hit N.O. I am frustrated because talking to people (who have no power to mete out appointments) can do nothing for me and all I get from the V.A. is b.s. Meanwhile here I am without teeth in my mouth and no prospects of getting them in. I know you are busy. I know you have problems. And there are folks worse off than I from the effects of Hurricane Katrina. But it would seem someone could be a bit more responsive that "let me have you last four." Thanks a bunch, Ellis T.
