    An addiction to smoking is can be commonly described as an unmanageable reliance on cigarettes.
    The reason why smoking is so addictive is due to nicotine, the active ingredient within cigarettes. Cigarette smoke is inhaled and travels into the lungs where it can then enter the bloodstream. While in the bloodstream, the cigarette smoke will travel to different parts of the brain within seconds and elicit a pleasurable feeling.

    This is why it is more common for smokers to crave cigarettes during periods of stress. The highly addictive nature of cigarette smoke is comparable to that of cocaine because addicts take the drug in order to release that pleasurable feeling.
     
     
     
     
     

    Symptoms associated with an addiction to cigarette smoking consists of:

    * Lethargy
    * Difficulty sleeping and concentrating
    * Increased Appetite

    There are different treatment options available such as:

    * Joining a smoking cessation program
    * Individual counseling
    * Self-help group therapy

    I've started smoking when i was 12 and im 18 now, I reli wanna quit and I cant, I can't go to therapy or those clubs , I reli feel i dun hv the balls to quit and I think is more psychologic addiction than fisiologic, I mean im used to smoke at specific times for ex. after eating and that makes it harder, for 5 years I didn't even wanted to quit but now my lungs start to hurt, i caugh every morning, and I dont even enjoy the cigarretes anymore, I just smoke them cuz I hv to and that reli sucks smokin becomes part od your life when you dont even enjoy it anymore... anyways if someone has a solution, a way to quit wifout going to therapy plz help
