OxyContin Addiction              Reply to this Comment
I was addicted to the heroin based substance and my life was pulled out from under me. When I finally came to my senses and asked for help, I went to a methadone clinic and tried to seek help. However, we found a treatment for me that helped a lot better. I began using the alternative therapy Suboxone and it changed my life. I feel like methadone is abused and with the Suboxone there is no high and it has a very high success rate. So if anyone has the same problem I did I would highly recomend looking into the alternative therapy of Suboxone.

alternate cum coactive therapy on Reishi Mushroohs              Reply to this Comment
There is no denying a fact that the recognised medical fields play a stellar roles in the up-keep and so-called maintaining the personal health of every human being. However, with great humility I would like to ventilate my feelings that the day is not far off when the modern medicines will run at par with some SELECTIVE alternate therapies like the Reishi Mushoom, if not become second best. I am myself a proud recipient of this wonderful therapy. There are lot of Papers on this subject. But if any one is really interested, to know the details, the treatment phases and where it is available etc., I want to let them know, I am at their service ! And mind you !, the service is not for any asking but FREE srinivasan(from India)

MY SON              Reply to this Comment
My 17 yr old son has been arrested or summoned as he says 3 times for pot, his last escapade was to go into a house and steal money. He cannot see what is happening to him. I have brought him to Sweetser counseling; the school has tried to help, he just doesn't get it. I would hate to see him go to jail, but I don't know what I can do for him if he won't help his self. I have Blue Cross Federal Insurance, it does not cover any residential treatment facility and very little of counseling. I am a single parent trying to make it with one income and no help from the father. What can I do? any information you can provide would be helpful. Rande

hey i know how you feel. i used to feel that way when i was in school too. life gets better if you keep trying and do what makes you happy (not your mom or dad or teachers or anyone else). The sooner you learn how to not worry about the opinions of others the happier you will be.

Featured Book Feb. 2006 A Childhood Taken Away By a Mother and Grandfather Featured Book Review and Recommendation WomensSelfEsteem.com recommends the book "A Childhood Taken Away". Author- Linda Sommer Farley About the Author and the Book- Linda Sommer Farley was born in Springfield, Illinois. She has been married for thirty-nine years and has ten grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. Her story tells us what life was like for her growing up. She shares with us the trauma of having an abusive mother with a gambling addiction, and how it effected her throughout her early life. Linda Sommer Farley came from a large family, of eight children. She was the sixth of her siblings and she shares her memories of being soley responsible for her younger siblings when her father was at work and her mother was away gambling. She also expresses her embarrasment of growing up poor, and the challenges she was faced with through her school years due to her poverty. Linda also allows us to feel her pain, her fear, and her total loneliness, when her grandfather abused her at one point in her life. Linda shows her readers how to be strong, and keep moving onward and upward. Linda Sommer Farley's reasons for her book are simply to reach out to others that are suffering and to show them that they too can rise above it all and change their lives. Her book is inspirational as well as motivational. A True Gem! Linda Sommer Farley is a proven author and survivor. About the book- A childhood taken away is a well written, very easy to read story for women with physical and mental abuse issues. The contents of Linda`s story ranges from feelings of lonliness, a need to be loved, to enjoying the small pleasures of life. WomensSelfEsteem.com's Review- Linda Sommer Farley`s story captured my interest mostly because of her strength as she continued to move forward in her life. She shows women that it is possible to take control of every situation and make choices toward a better life. "A Childhood Taken Away" is written with intelligence and very good articulation. Job Loss              Reply to this Comment
I left my employer May 2005. They didn't want me to leave, but they refused to address my concerns regarding an unethical coworker that was lying, gossiping and stealing. I gave a two week notice to leave my employer, but unexpectedly, one week into the notice they publicly walked me out the door in front of staff, kept $9,000 of back commission wages, and put out a defaming letter to my past clients. This letter, produced 34 client phone calls to my personal residence asking 'what happened' and why would an employer want to lose me from their employ - this questioning was very embarrassing as I had to take the high road with regard to speaking negatively about this employer. Due to depression from this trauma and unable to return to work; I've had to file bankruptcy; I'm in foreclosure on my home and have actually contemplated taking my life. I'm a single parent with a small child as well. Most importantly, due to this situation, I started drinking after nineteen years of sobriety. I have since put myself thru chemical dep treatment again and I’m back on my feet -sort of. My question to anyone out there is: Why, when you work with the highest intention for your employer, remain ethical in all interactions concerning your job, practice honesty and high ethics, receive outstanding sales awards, create a loyal sales clientele base for this employer, would a company treat a person like this? Why would God require proper work ethics from us and a reward for acting with integrity is repaid by public humiliation from the employer. I now seriously lack the confidence to return to an employer. Thank you.

I totally agree with H.H. I have been on it for months and my doctor is wonderful. He see's me once a month to make sure I am ok. He sometimes with drug test me. I am finally free. I DO STRONGLY RECOMMEND A SUPPORT GROUP INCLUDING AA OR NA. Without is chances are you WILL return to drug abuse. You will never have to experience withdrawl again. REMEMBER HOW WITHDRAWL FEELS EVERYTIME YOU EVEN THINK OF DOING OXY!!!

Dear Ashley, I understand how you feel about your great grandmother. When my grandmother died it was like losing the last female link to my family as my mother had died six years before. I was very close to my grandmother as we had hoidays with her when I was young and she lived with us after her husband died and my mum went back to full time work. I'm probably not the one to help you with your boyfriend's problem as I don't personally know anyone who has been in jail. I have always had a fear though of going to jail for something I didn't do, which sounds exactly like what has happened with your boyfriend. Stick by him if he truly is innocent. However he needs to learn who his real friends are and double check the company he is keeping so he can trust those around him and so that you can trust him. You are going through a lot for a 16 year old. Remember your life is just starting out and it won't always be like this. You don't say whether you have drug and alcohol problems. I mention this because this website is attached to substance abuse problems. If this is a factor try to calm down and not get caught up in negative thoughts. The problem with drugs and teenagers is that young people do not have enough experience of life and the way the world works to ride out the bad times and know that they will one day pass. You are seeking help so you can trust yourself to reach out when you need to. You could try contacting a GP,a local doctor,to give you a referral to a counsellor. A good counsellor will be on your side and will be there to support you and talk things through with you. If you don't like the counsellor go back to your local GP doctor and ask for a referral to a different counsellor. Try a different referring doctor if you can't get the help you need from the first GP. Shop around until you find the right person you feel comfortable with. Let's face it some doctors and counsellors have prejudices and pre set opinions just like everyone in the world. Find one that suits you and is not out to judge you. You will survive, you are strong and there are people out there who care and can help. Never give up
