    suicide              Reply to this Comment
The word "suicide" just doesn't begin to do it justice. No one who contemplates suicide realizes what this tragedy is going to mean to the ones left behind. I don't care what has happened, don't hurt the ones that love you. And trust me, there is someone that loves you, even when you think no one does. You exist on this planet to make it better, not to make it more sad. Please trust me, I have lived for quite some time, suffered horrific things in my life, but I didn't give up and my life got better. All those times I thought about ending my life, I am so thankful that I didn't. I included my e-mail, if you ever need to talk. I cannot fix things, but I will listen and help you problem solve, help you realize that you do have worth, and that tomorrow is another day, and maybe, just maybe, things will be better.

R U in Rehab?              Reply to this Comment
I'm assuming that's where u are! Just stick it out. It won't be long and you will be out on your own. Your mother might push too hard. Noone is perfect. They do it cuz they love us. You will get something out of where ever you are, you might not use it nor see it now, but just trust me , it will stay in your head and might help you or keep you from doing the wrong thing someday. I am 45 years old now! I have been there done that and I believe that drugs can be a part of "growing up" but taken too far they can end your life or cause addiction. esp. this new meth stuff I hear about. Anyway don't wait like I did to be 34 years old before you decide to "grow up" and clean up your act. GOOD LUCK. AND DEAR GOD...PLEASE DON'T runaway or "DIE"as you wrote! write if you would like to vent or discuss anything. Cinbar731@aol.com

    Saboxone              Reply to this Comment
My finacee suffered from chronic vomitting, nausea and pain in regard to a large esphogeal tumor. In the 7 weeks it took them to scehdule surgery he was put on a pretty heavy drug regime including several different types of moraphone. After surgery, he detoxed in the hospital form teh moraphoine. Now he is presenting the same symptoms as prior to surgery. He has nevetr been on any narcotics kprior to this 7 week egime with the exception of script fo rvicodine accatonally for dental work etc....nothing regular or even close to it. U of M doctors who did the surgery are baffled and said it is undiagnosable. He is 32 years old and otherwise very healthy. They perscribed Saboxone for him before he was released from U of M, but they were unable to fill teh script upon his discharge. WE live in the upper peninsula of Michigan and are unable to fill the script here with I am open to any information about the drug, any side effects, if there is any withdrawals etc. WE have been told we would have to go to Wisconsin to get thiws medication. Is there only certain states taht have approved it's distribution ? Please help!!!

Gambling addiction               Reply to this Comment
One of the most beautiful aspects of life is the relationship and love between a mother and child. To go through life without a mother's love can be very cruel and difficult. The only thing I received from my mother was an addiction to gambling. As a baby to adulthood I was raised around gambling. I knew how to play poker when I was five years old. During these frequent card games for money there was filthy language, dense smoke from the card players smoking, arguing, and these card games would last all night or even longer. At times there were actual physical fights when one of the card players would get angry at someone because of the way they bet on a hand of poker. In her book - A Childhood Taken Away by a Mother and Grandfather - the author - Linda Sommer Farley - tells us what life was like for her growing up. She shares with us the trauma of having an abusive grandfather and a mother with a gambling addiction and how it effected her throughout her life. She expresses her embarrassment of growing up poor and the challenges she faced through out her school years due to her poverty. In her book she describes the difficulties and accomplishments she has experienced. This book is available at: Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble.com, SchoolFundStore.com, Target.com, TextbooksRus.com, and can be ordered at Barnes & Noble and Borders Express Book Stores.

    Suboxone              Reply to this Comment
I was in rehab and came out and tried the suboxone treatment and hated it because it made me sicker than being on dope. I was apprehesive to try methadone because everyone says, "ohh it's just another addiction." I am almost finished with the methadone program and I love it. I go to counseling once a week and go to group every other week. I see the resident doctor every 3 weeks and he checks your blood to see if your on too much methadone and in the beginning to be honest I was and now I am content with my life and awake to everyone and everything around me. If anyone is interested in finding a clinic near them contact me. As a matter of fact next fall I am going to college to become a social worker without my social worker I would probably be dead or have a needle in my arm still.

Ashley, I am not quite sure how old you are but I am 22 almost 23 and if I could go back to my high days I so would. I was expelled my senior year for having oxy's and I wasn't able to graduate. Please stay in school high school or at least getting your high school diploma is the best thing you can do for yourself. As for your mom she just wants whats best for you and maybe you should try to communicate with her about this to back off some thats what I did my mom but please don't shut her out of your life because one day she isn't going to be there and you will feel horrible. My father died and it took me forever to get over it in fact I am still not over it. So please keep your head up things can only go up from here. email me at discoverngfate26@aol.com
