For many people God or some sort of Supreme Being or divine manifestation is important in their lives. Also, some find spirituality in nature or other means. Many find peace of mind when focusing on spiritual matters. When you are not feeling your best, spiritual things can be difficult to focus on.
On the other hand, struggles often times make us look for help
from a spiritual source. If spirituality is important or plays a
big role for you, sometimes regular counselors or therapists who don’t
incorporate spirituality into their counseling can be less
effective. Finding a spiritual counselor can be difficult, but
also rewarding. Some centers focus on spiritual counseling and
are a good place to start. Also, priests or advisors of your
local religious institutions can often be helpful in advice or ideas of
where to look. Spiritual counselors look at problems and
solutions from a spiritual perspective and can help you meet your
specific needs. Focus on prayer is often times a part of
spiritual counseling. The idea that we each have an inner self or
soul that intuitively knows what is right or wrong and knows what we
need to heal ourselves is addressed and helped to find a path that will
bring us peace.

My business is Holistic Health Counseling and I use the mind, body, spirit approach to help people move forward in their lives and become healthier as a result. I find that spirituality is the foundation of becoming successful. Please let me know if you know an organization that needs someone like myself.
Thank you and be well,

Kim, So...are you an MD..PHD, Msw? How do you incorporate all three levels in a patient? And how do you integrate spirituality in someone who has a religious doctrine..Catholicism, Islam, Judaica) For instance in some religions Yoga, Reiki,Channeling, all that new age stuff is forbidden, in others certain dietary restrictions must be upheld. Don't you run into conflict there?

I apologize I didn't receive any notification that these posts were here. With regard to your question, I am a certified Holistic Health Counselor. I have been studying emotional well-being, nutrition, and spirituality for over 20 years now. I do not have a degree above that, but experience and self-education has been just as good, if not better in many instances. I have a practical approach where I have learned from people in the general public, and not from books. As far as spirituality, I simply believe that faith is the root of any success. It does not matter what your faith, it matters if you have faith. I respect all religions and organizations and I believe this is the only way for existence on our planet. No one is right and no one is wrong. I hope this answers your questions.
Be well,
Kim

Hi,
Again I apologize for not having gotten back to you sooner. You have obviously used some kind of faith already in your life to be recovering in the first place. I really commend you for having found something that made you love yourself again enough to leave drugs behind. Unfortunately, I see too many people who have given up and choose to "live" with drugs in their life instead of doing anything about it. My suggestion to you is to find someone to share your faith with, whatever faith you have. Find ways to thank your higher power every day for the good and bad things that happen because they are all there for a reason. I'm guessing something traumatic probably happened for you to "see the light". This is how it is for most people. Very rarely do we change our lives until it gets so unbearable we just can't take it anymore. I wish you tremendous success, and again I wish for you only health and wellness in the years to come.
Peace,
Kim
