MY DAUGHTER WAS DIAGNOSED AS A DIABERIC WHEN SHE WAS 8 YEARS OLD. SHE WAS AND STILL IS THE BEST KID.SHE IS NOW 14 AND JUST ENTERED HS. SHE WAS THE TYPE OF KID THAT WAS PERFECT GRADES, ALL SPORTS, DANCING MODELING.. HER BEHAVIOR CHANGED. GRADES DOWN, DIFFERANT FRIENDS, JUST ACTING VERY DIFFERANT. WELL I DID A HOME DRUG TEST AND IT CAME BACK POSITIVE. SHE NEVER OR HATED KIDS THAT SMOKED WEED, BUT LOOK WHAT IT TOOK FOR THIS LITTLE GIRL TO GET THE PROFESSIONAL HELP THAT SHE NEEDED. SHE FEELS SHES DIFFERANT FROM EVERYONE ELSE BECAUSE OF HER DIABETIS. PLEASEANYONE OUT THERE DON'T WAIT, IF YOU HAVE ATEEN WITH DIABETIS GET THEM INTO COUNCELING BEFORE THE ISSSUE EVEN HAPPENS

Adoptive child help              Reply to this Comment
7yrs ago we adopted a 4yr girl, she is just destroying our family. She seems to have the problems above. She has the public aid card and our HMO with Dr. Blair as primary. She can always walk the walk and talk the talk when we are with Dr. or other theripist. We need help!

My son has been under counseling for anger for 2 years now. He is currently having rages and verbally expressinh harm to his-self and others. his counselor suggested emmediate help for bi-polar. Not to be confused with ODD. Meaning in children bi-polar symptoms are ODD and should only be medicated as a bipolar diagnosis. My sons father is not diagnosed but has bi-polar as well as my father. It is hereditary in the family. The biggest issue in my sons case is that i am divocred and my ex brain washed our son into hating me and his siblings/counselor/cps/and any one that tries to help me with him.

Anyone know of any good help for teen boy with ODD? My teen is now refusing therapy and meds. (can't blame hime, we've been through so many and nothing seems to work) He will be 17 soon, so my time to help is becoming limited. He is on the verge of being expelled (for good this time).
