My son is 32 and after 3 1/2 years of constantly winning custody of his son, he is on crystal meth, cocaine, marijuana and crack, and is in full denial. He is about to lose custody next week. He is in jail 2 times in 1 month. I might be able to get him into drug court and bargain rehab, but he is in denial. He curses me on the phone from jail, and says he is clean. I need a specialized rehab for him to break him down and return him to who he is, a wonderful human being and father and son. I am looking at S. Miami Hospital in Miami FL, Cornerstone in TN, and Willing Ways in Ga. Any suggestions: Teena

rehab and after care              Reply to this Comment
My son is bi-polar and manic depressive. For a few months he has taken crack and wants to find a rehab place. It seems difficult. All places we contact are either full or dont take his particular case. One told us they only take heroine addicts. Can you recommend a place?

Book Title: A Childhood Taken Away by a Mother and Grandfather Author: Linda Sommer Farley ISBN: 1413775195 Publisher: Publish America Book Description: One of the most beautiful aspects of life is the relationship and love between a mother and child. To go through life without a mother's love can be very cruel and difficult. It can easily destroy you or as in my case make you stronger. With determination you can have a wonderful life after experiencing a tough childhood. After fifty-three years of dealing with someone who was incapable of showing me any respect or love, I can say that I have finally broken free from my mother's bondage. After all of these years I can finally be the person who I want to be. It is as if I have just now begun to live. I will continue to write about my experiences as a child; hopefully, what I have been through will help others. I now know that a new beginning is possible no matter what life throws your way. Linda Farley was born in Springfield, Illinois. She grew up in a large family where money was scarce. Her mother was not around for a great deal of her childhood. She was the sixth child of eight and had the responsibility of raising her younger siblings when no one was at home. An abusive grandfather and mother were traumatic parts of her life. This book contains so me of Farley's life stories. She describes the difficulties and accomplishments she has experienced in these painful and sometimes humorous stories. She wrote this book with the purest of intentions - to help others. Subjects: Self-Help > Abuse > Survival > Motivational > Inspirational Genre: Non fiction A Childhood Taken Away by a Mother and Grandfather can be ordered at Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble.com, Abebooks.com, Books com, Barnes & Noble Booksellers, Forbes.com Book Club

How to talk to grandparents?              Reply to this Comment
Ive been addicted to numerous pain killers for almost 5 years. Im 20 years old and I live w/ my grandparents. I have friends who had the same addiction as I and they got onto the methadone clinic w/ great results. The addiction is taking ahold of my life and destroying my mental and physical state. Im afraid to talk to my grandparents about getting onto the methadone clinic becasue all they have seen and heard about the clinic is the bad stuff. I know that if I tell them that im getting onto the clinic they will disapprove and I'm afraid that they'll not allow me to live with them. Please help me. I dont think i can make it any longer

my 22 year old sister just got out of rehab for ICE three months ago. She has been clean for over 90 days. She struggles daily, but with the awsome support of our family, and lots of prayers, she is still on the right track. Rehab can help, but God is the answer.

I want my daddy back!              Reply to this Comment
My dad has been addicted to Meth for at least 5 years. He has missed out on so much of our lives, I have a brother and sister also. He has missed the births of his 4 beautiful grandchildren and hasn't really been around any of them since they have been around. He has a girlfriend that is addicted and he is in jail right now and she's still on the street getting high and he thinks she is the one for him. He wont listen to any of us when we tell him she is just gonna get him in the same shape he was in before he went to jail. He is supposed to go to rehab and he really wants to get help. But ive heard that if you hang around people that continue to do drugs then you will do it too. Please help, he wont listen to any of his kids. I just want my daddy back and I want my kids and niece and nephew to know their grandpa.
