    Marijuana              Reply to this Comment
None of your links go to marijuana abuse, and your drug abuse link is vague, at best. "No motivation" as a psychological issue , at the very least, should be addressed.

If you click on Drug Abuse there are several articles listed there. There is even one about marijuana use.

Thanks teddy              Reply to this Comment
I just went to the site on Marijuana use. Sort of useful. I have been smoking since I was 13 years old, now I'm 43. While it took me away from the daily nonsense in my life, I wasn't content having to smoke my life away to get through the days. I recently decided to stop smoking & kick it finally. I've attempted a couple of times before, give or take 4 spread out years. Now I'm on my 13th day of not smoking. I miss it alot, but I'm not getting any younger & I'm already a depressive. I want to live my life clean & sober. I feel confident that I won't smoke anymore, however, a visit to a pyschiatrist shortly will inevitably put me on some sort of anti-depressant. Now I ask, am I really going to be clean & sober?

I want to stop smoking              Reply to this Comment
I have been smoking for 15 years and I am only 30 years now fifteen years is a long time, I am scared that I am going to die of cancer, but I an so addicted. I want to stop so bad what can I do?

    dunno              Reply to this Comment
I think smoking is bad and it should be illegal. There is no point in doing so because it'll just kead to more and more problems. If people smoke under depression, they should go to a physciatrist and talk about there problem before causing more and new problems.

Maria`s post              Reply to this Comment
Naria, no one can TELL you how to stop. It has to come from you. Your furniture, carpets walls etc all smell of smoke. You don`t notice it but others do. And your clothes too... Good luck.

Featured Book Feb. 2006 A Childhood Taken Away By a Mother and Grandfather Featured Book Review and Recommendation WomensSelfEsteem.com recommends the book "A Childhood Taken Away". Author- Linda Sommer Farley About the Author and the Book- Linda Sommer Farley was born in Springfield, Illinois. She has been married for thirty-nine years and has ten grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. Her story tells us what life was like for her growing up. She shares with us the trauma of having an abusive mother with a gambling addiction, and how it effected her throughout her early life. Linda Sommer Farley came from a large family, of eight children. She was the sixth of her siblings and she shares her memories of being soley responsible for her younger siblings when her father was at work and her mother was away gambling. She also expresses her embarrasment of growing up poor, and the challenges she was faced with through her school years due to her poverty. Linda also allows us to feel her pain, her fear, and her total loneliness, when her grandfather abused her at one point in her life. Linda shows her readers how to be strong, and keep moving onward and upward. Linda Sommer Farley's reasons for her book are simply to reach out to others that are suffering and to show them that they too can rise above it all and change their lives. Her book is inspirational as well as motivational. A True Gem! Linda Sommer Farley is a proven author and survivor. About the book- A childhood taken away is a well written, very easy to read story for women with physical and mental abuse issues. The contents of Linda`s story ranges from feelings of lonliness, a need to be loved, to enjoying the small pleasures of life. WomensSelfEsteem.com's Review- Linda Sommer Farley`s story captured my interest mostly because of her strength as she continued to move forward in her life. She shows women that it is possible to take control of every situation and make choices toward a better life. "A Childhood Taken Away" is written with intelligence and very good articulation. Inspirational as well as motivational. A True Gem! Linda Sommer Farley is a proven author and survivor. Linda has articles published in various magazines and I look forward to more of Linda`s life experiences. stop smoking              Reply to this Comment
I have smoked for 46 years and all I have seen to stop smoking is a lot of talk and very expensive drugs to help. I feel that it is time to get the tobacco companies out of the loop. They produce the products that are suppose to help you quit at a very large price. If the VA and insurance companies want us to quit, then the pay for the research to come up with something that will make quitting work. It is time for all the talk to stop. Give us some real help, and pay for it. Richard C. Demars 46 year smoker
