Alpha-ethyltrptamine is a tryptamine derivative, which causes effects that resembles MDMA. It has been classified as a Schedule I drug in recent times because of its similarities to MDMA or methylenedioxymethamphetamine. This drug, also known as AET, is said to increase the locomotive activity of a person.
Developed originally in the 1960s, AET is a short acting psychedelic, which was made illegal in the year 1971, and ever since, this availability of this drug is quite rare nowadays.
Some studies were conducted on rats to find out whether AET leads to serotonergic deficits and the result reported that this drug indeed lead to serotonin neurotoxicity, which resembles MDMA. Moreover, this drug also has hallucinogenic and stimulating properties. It can stimulate the central nervous system or the CNS. AET is produced secretly and sold illegally in the drug market.
Alpha-ethyltrptamine is a powerful monoamine releasing agent and a monoamine oxidase inhibitor. It is sold illicitly as an alternative to MDMA. The different names by which it is called are Alpha-ET, ET, Love Pills, Love Pearls and so on.
