THE EFFECTS OF ALPHA-ETHYLTRYPTAMINE USE
There are many reports that have considered that alpha-ethyltryptamine (AET) that is a tryptamine-deriving drug can have effects that are like the amphetamine-deriving drug called methylenedioxymethamphetamine or (MDMA). But in reality, the drug Enforcement Administration of US has placed alpha-ethyltryptamine on the list of schedule I as it has its similarity with MDMA.
A Behavioral Pattern Monitor that quantifies investigatory and locomotor reactions of the rats was utilized to see the effects of alpha-ethyltryptamine. At first, a study of dose result showed that all the doses of alpha-ethyltryptamine tested 5,10,20 mg/kg considerably increased the locomotor activity and AET also decreased the measures of investigatory behavior considerably.
It seems that AET to be the initial indolalkylamine reported to have the effects like MDMA rather than phenethylamine. The alpha-ethyltryptamine might also prove useful in determining neurochemical mechanisms of the entactogen effects.
Here are some examples of the effects that have been experienced by people who took alpha-ethyltryptamine orally:
An almost unnoticeable feeling of pleasure and well being was seen after 80 minutes later taking 100mg orally. At three hours, it seemed to be totally gone.
And when 160mg was taken orally then a strong feeling of being at total peace was evident in one hour.
