A kind of vasodilator is AMYL NITRITE. This drug helps to increase the oxygen and blood supply to the heart and also relaxes the blood vessels. This drug also calms the pain, which comes with angina. This nitrite is available inside a glass capsule as a mixture.
To prevent your finger from being cut when you will break and squeeze the solution out, the capsule is covered with cloth. Generic amyl nitrite nasal inhalants are offered.
The mixture of amyl nitrite is strictly for nasal sniffing in. Never inhale it through mouth. Go by the instruction provided in the label of the prescription. When you observe the initial signs of angina attack i.e. tightness of the chest or pain, use amyl nitrite. Never replace the cover on the glass capsule. Make the patient sit upright; break the capsule by finger and move in front of the nose many times helping the patient to sniff in the vapor. Make the patient sit upright after the use also. Within 5 minutes the pain is expected to go away. But if the throbbing persists, take another capsule. Seek immediate medical help when the second dose fails to relive the pain.
