THE EFFECTS OF AMYL NITRITE USE

Side by side of the beneficial power, the drug has some uninvited influence too. Even though it isn’t a certainty that they will occur, if so, they will require medical help.

Consult a doctor immediately if the following symptoms crops up:

    Uncommon

Abnormal weakness or fatigue; skin reactions

    Symptoms and signs of overdose

Fingernails, palm of hands or lips turning blue; excessive giddiness; short rapid breathing; abnormal fatigue and frailty; fast and feeble heart palpitation; sensation of severe strain in head

Some other side effects might not require medical help. They disappear as the treatment proceeds and the body gets adjusted to the drug.

    Usual

Lightheadedness or faintness when getting up from stretched out positing or sitting posture; speedy pulse rate; redness of neck and face; mild headache; nausea; anxiety.

With the use of amyl nitrite mild temporary headache, giddiness and redness of face usually occur.  But some unpleasant reactions may take place in vulnerable patients, like: involuntary passing of feces and urine, cold sweat, syncope, pallor, tachycardia, hypotension, weakness, nausea and anxiety. Extreme high dosage of this drug if given constantly might bring forth methemoglobinemia.
