BENZOCAINE USE SIGNS
Benzocaine is a medication, which is used, in providing relief to injury, discomfort, pain and itching in the ears. It is available in liquid form and should be applied as recommended by the doctor. Do not use this medication for longer than it has been recommended.
When applied initially, this medication may cause a burning or stinging sensation for a minute or so.
Let you doctor know about this if this carry on for some time or become troublesome. There are some people who might become allergic to this medication. In case of young children, this medication can cause some unnecessary side effects.
There are also some cases where the patients develop rashes or skin rashes on the affected area. Some of the side effects of Benzocaine (when used in excess) are:
- Convulsions
- Sleepiness
- Abnormal or slow beating of the heart
- Strange weakness or exhaustion
- Problem with breathing
- Shaking or trembling
- Headache
- Numbness
- Feeling hot or cold
- Unclear or double vision
- Buzzing or ringing in the ear
- Unusual worry or nervousness
- Paleness
The above are the symptoms, which take place when the medication is given in excess. However, these symptoms are not common.
