Few of the most ordinary effects of GHB are nausea, vomiting (at times), faintness and sleepiness. The effects of GHB bear some resemblance to the effects of tranquilizers and alcohol, as it is a sedative-hypnotic. Unlike the other drugs that may cause sleepiness, GHB will most definitely make the users feel sleepy. The other side effect of GHB may be in-coordination or ataxia.
I would recommend you not to work on risky machinery or drive a vehicle after taking the drug. It has been reported that seizures or contraction of muscles have been experienced during the beginning of the drug-induced slumber. At times, the users also complain of headaches. Little alteration in the blood pressure can occur along with reasonable slowing of the heartbeat. Similarly, some users report orthostatic hypotension i.e. the unexpected fall in the blood pressure as a result of standing up straight. This will cause a short period of faintness but the users seldom lose consciousness most of the time.Respiratory depression and cardiac depression can also take place when a user takes large amount of GHB.Loss of consciousness and sedation can occur at extremely high doses. Some of the severe and abnormal response includes sleepwalking, temporary amnesia, lack of bladder control and diarrhea. When GHB is taken with other drugs (which can depress the CNS) then the side effects can be serious.
