HOW HALLUCINOGENS ARE USED
Psychedelic drugs or hallucinogens refers to the kind of drug that alters the perception and thinking of a person. The effects of hallucinogens are very obvious as they influence the senses of the users, which lead to hallucinations. Here the users think that they are seeing or hearing things but in reality, these things do not exist. Hallucinogens can also change an individual’s emotions, sense of time and judgment.
Hallucinogens are of various types. Certain hallucinogens can be produced in laboratories whereas some are found naturally in seeds, leaves, vines, trees and fungi. Some examples of hallucinogens are ecstasy, cannabis (excess amount), phencyclidine or PCP, mescaline, magic mushroom and LSD.
Hallucinogens are distinguished by their psychedelic or hallucinogenic properties and they are found in various forms like complete or partial synthetic or natural plant derivatives. The several forms of hallucinogens can be made in to solutions, pills and powders. This drug is can be used in several ways like injecting into muscle or bloodstream or inhaling it in. Hallucinogens can also be masticated. Swallowed, added to tea or food and applied to mucous membranes.
At present, certain hallucinogens (like ketamine) are used in clinics. Ketamine is an anesthetic used in surgeries when anesthetic mask is not required.
However, not many people use hallucinogens nowadays because of its irregular pleasant effects or because it takes a long time to recover.
