Those who take heroin on a regularly basis may get infection in the heart lining and valves, liver disease, cellulites, abscesses and collapsed veins. Problems relating to lungs like different kinds of pneumonia may be caused by the depressing effects of heroin on respiratory system along with the poor health of the user. Apart from the effects of the drug itself, the street heroin may contain chemicals, which do not easily dissolve, and as such it leads to the blocking of the blood vessels that leads to the brain, lungs, kidneys and liver. The small patches of cells in the essential organs may become effected or even die.
A person will become tolerant to heroin if he uses it frequently. When such a situation arises then the user will have to take more quantity of heroin to obtain the desired effect or intensity. A person will start to depend on the drug physically and get addicted to it if it is used for a long period.
