METHADONE USE SIGNS
Taking methadone on a regular basis will make the user physically dependent on it, as it is an opiate. The user may go through withdrawal symptoms when you discontinue with it (after using it for a long time). Like other opiates (for example heroin), the physical symptoms include constipation, sleepiness, contraction of pupils and suppressed cough. There are some people who may feel ill during the first time use.
In case of a woman, she may suffer from abnormal periods but she will be able to conceive a child. The effects of this drug can last for up to 36 hours and as such it is regarded as a long-acting opioid. This drug will stay behind in the body for few days and it will not disappear.
Early in the treatment process, many patients often die. Deaths generally occur due to overdose and they are affected by connected illnesses such as pneumonia and hepatitis. This drug can lead to a number of opioid side effects, which include physical and mental dependence and increase in tolerance level. Depression in the respiratory system can be risky. Histamines, which are released, can lead to bronchospasms or hypotension. Several other symptoms consist of edema, vertigo, sedation, nausea and constipation.
