Tightening of jaws, edginess, twitching, grinding of teeth and repetitive behavior are some of the most ordinary side effects of methamphetamine.
Those who are addicted to methamphetamine may lose their teeth unusually faster than the common people and ‘meth mouth’ is the name given to this condition. In case of other amphetamines use (in clinics), alike but less serious symptoms have been experienced which are not worsen by the lack of oral hygiene for an extensive period of time. Similar to other drugs, methamphetamine reduces the manufacturing of saliva and as such thirst is increased.
If drinking liquids rich in sugar satisfies the thirst then tooth decay may be the consequence.
The drug addict may also show sexually compelling behavior and may take part in intercourse with one or more persons. Such an act is said to have a connection between spreading of sexually transmitted disease or STD (particularly syphilis and HIV) and use of methamphetamine. Programs and Organizations (like Crystal Meth Anonymous) were started as this led to extreme worry among the gay communities.
