The law enforcement and treatment providers have given two fundamental profiles of methamphetamine users:
- High school and College students.
- Jobless people and Blue-collar workers in the age group of 20s to 30s (White).
The men and women in both the rural as well as the urban regions evenly use methamphetamine. It has been reported that in comparison to cocaine, women have more chances of using methamphetamine. Even though white people are the leading users of methamphetamine, the Hispanic and Native American users are also on a rise.
Researches have shown that this drug is well accepted by the teenagers (18 years and below) as they feel that methamphetamine is easier to buy than cocaine and they are long lasting and safer than the other drugs. The Law enforcement officials have found teenagers of ages 14 and 15 buying as well as selling methamphetamine.
The drug produce increased mental and physical performance and as such, students and athletes use meth occasionally. Young women use meth to lose weight most of the time and to do extra shifts, service workers as well as blue-collar workers sometimes use this drug. There are also people who take this drug to get energy in social activities like the rave. Furthermore, this drug can be brought easily in comparison to cocaine and they are also quite reasonable. In fact, most users believe that meth is not a drug at all.
