When a person takes methcathinone, the neurotransmitter in the brain (dopamine) is released and it also leads to the increase in the impulsive locomotive activities of user. Moreover, the user does not feel hungry as the drug makes him lose his appetite. The user will neglect drinking water which in turn will lead to dehydration and leaves him with thirst.

Methcathinone causes effects which are similar to methamphetamine and the euphoria caused by it is very powerful. As Methcathinone frequently leads to increased heart rate and increased blood pressure, it is evaluated against cocaine most of the time. Some effects caused by Methcathinone are:
-Heightened awareness.
-Non-stop talking.
-Rise in heart rate.
-Breathing quickly.
-Euphoria.
-Heightened Compassion.
-Rise or fall in sexual craving and function.
-Dilated pupils.
All these effects experienced by the users will carry on for a few hours (about four hours to six hours).
The effects caused by Methcathinone are different from methamphetamine in a number of ways. The intensity of the effects are more or less the same as methamphetamine but the shiny white effect caused by the used of methamphetamine is not the same.
