    HOW OXYCONTIN IS USED

A legally accepted drug to provide relief from constant pain (for as a period of about twelve hours) is OxyContin. It is commonly known as killer, O.C or oxy by most of the people. This drug is very often recommended to those who suffer from constant and long-term pain or to those with cancer.

This medication is advantageous for those who go through constant pain as they only have to take OxyContin two times a day while on the other hand, the prescribed amount of other drugs (for pain) is usually more. Reduction of pain and to help a person function properly is the main objective of constant pain management.

Taking this drug can put you at risk of drug abuse and it is generally used in patients who go through moderate to extreme pain caused by arthritis, back pain, cancer, neuralgia, fractures, dislocation, bursitis or injuries. OxyContin can also be used after giving birth to a child or after a surgery.

Those who suffer from OxyContin abuse will usually crush the tablet in to power-like form and swallow it or breathe it in or add it to water and inject it in to the body. When the drug is crushed or diluted, it neutralizes the sustained-release act of the drug and it leads to a fast and strong high in the users. This feeling has been evaluated against the excitement, which heroin can give, by the users. There are certain cases where OxyContin outshines heroin.
