    WHY DO PEOPLE USE PROCAINE?

Normally, procaine is used in the form of injection before and at the time of surgery. Make sure that you do not hurt the area where procaine was injected. The amount of this drug used will not be same for every one. It will differ from person to person.

Basically, the amount of procaine will depend on:

    -         How old the patient is.

    -         The common medical condition of the patient.

    -         For what this anesthetic is given.

If you are going to be given procaine then you should let your doctor know whether or not you are using specific drugs, which can affect the use of procaine. Moreover, you should also allow your doctor know whether you have any other disease or illness like sugar diabetes, brain infection, heart disease, high blood pressure or low blood pressure, liver or kidney disease, etc. Moreover, if you have some skin infection then your doctor may not inject procaine in the infected area.

Especially in the case of oral surgery, the drug procaine is used to make the region (where procaine is injected) numb. Just like cocaine, procaine has the ability to constrict the blood vessels in order to minimize bleeding.
