The medical name for date-rape drug is Rohypnol or flunitrazepam. It is a craze among some youngsters and teenagers who use it for abusive purpose at nightclubs and parties. Coming mainly from chemists of Tijuana, Mexico it is easily available.

As a cure for temporary insomnia and preanesthetic drug, Rohypnol is sold openly and legitimately in Latin America promoted by Hoffman-La Roche Inc.

An important beneficial effect of Rohypnol is that it heals anterograde amnesia. It is such a state which when happens, that the victim forgets the events that had happened when he/she had been under the effect of the drug.

One can get hold of this drug as a tablet in the quantity of 1 and 5 milligrams; also the injection mix is available at a 1 milligram per milliliter. The marketing company of Rohypnol, Hoffman-La Roche withdrew the 2-milligram prescribed amount pills within 1996 to 1997 and recently it’s gradually withdrawing the 1-milligram white pills. But it is still sold as a rectangular pill on which the number 542 in stamped and is olive green in color, in the illegal markets. It is suggested by the Hoffman-La Roche that the new pill has a dye which when immersed in a drink will be easily noticeable. There are varied price ranges for this drug; it may either sale between $10 to $30 and $2 to $5.
