THE EFFECTS OF STRYCHNINE USE
After fifteen to sixty minutes of taking in strychnine by swallowing, the signs of poisoning will begin to show. Those individuals who have taken in strychnine in their body through any of the methods have the possibility of experiencing the following:

- Disturbance
- Getting worried easily
- Impatient
- Stiff arms and legs
- Urine will be dark in color
- Breathing problem
- Clenching of jaws
- Unmanageable arching of back and neck
- Muscle contractions (painful one) probably leading to fever, liver and kidney injury
- The patient will have knowledge about what is happening to him
Those individuals who have taken in strychnine in large quantity will go through the following within fifteen minutes to half-an-hour time:
- Suffocation or failure to respire (respiratory failure), which will probably lead to Brain death of the patient.
However, a person experiencing all these symptoms and indications does not actually mean that he has taken in strychnine (through any route).
Those who are fortunate to have survived from strychnine poisoning are doubtful to have long-term health effects. On the other hand, these effects (long-term) may be caused by certain harm to the body like kidney failure and brain damage. Individuals who are seriously affected will have less chances of surviving.
