    ADD IMPULSIVE BEHAVIOR

The 3 main symptoms or signs of ADD or ADHD are hyperactivity that is being very active, problems with concentration and impulsive behavior that is acting before thinking.

The most visible sign of ADD or ADHD is perhaps being too active. Being super-charged and always ready “to be on the go” are two defining traits of hyperactivity. The activity level might go down with the onset of adulthood.

To cite instances, hyperactive or impulsive children may climb to the top of very tall trees or run out into the road without even looking. Often they may be surprised to find themselves in a dangerous situation and may have no idea as to how to extricate themselves.

Impulsivity and hyperactivity go hand in hand. A child suffering from ADD/ADHD may have the following:

    1)      Interfere in the games that other kids are playing

    2)      Interrupt others when they are talking

    3)      Have trouble waiting for their turn

    4)      Announce the answers prior to questions being completed

    5)      Talk incessantly

    6)      Have problem playing quietly

    7)      Run around or climb constantly

    8)      Stand up on the chairs when they are not supposed to

    9)      Fidget and squirm

    10)  Wiggling the feet and touching everything

    11)  Noisily tap pencil

    12)  Cannot sit still

    13)  Dash around the room

    14)  Is easily distracted

    15)  Shifts from one incomplete task to another

    16)  Multi-tasking

    17)  Cognitive or physical restlessness

    18)  Impatient or low tolerance level

    19)  Changing procedures, enacting career plans, or new schemes and so on

    20)  Hot-tempered

    21)  Impulsive in action, like spending money
