CENTER FOR ADD TREATMENT
Providing a comprehensive analysis and cure to adults and children suffering from ADD, all through their lifespan, is the work of the ADD center.
State-of-the-art, multi-disciplinary experienced staff at the ADD center provides treatment approaches for adults as well as children with ADD.
Treatment is carried out by a team of specialists from various fields of neuropsychology, neurology, psychiatry and child psychology. These clinicians have special expertise in dealing with ADD patients and their families.
In the New York Metropolitan Area, a unique program is being run to reach out to adults with ADD. They also treat many related psychiatric and neurological conditions that may also be found.
Services rendered are as follows:
- Diagnosis and evaluation
- Testing neuropsychological characteristics
- Managing medication
- Establishing accommodation programs in connection with employers and schools
- Behavioral/ Cognitive therapy
- Training in parental skills
- For the diagnosis and treatment of ADD, research works are also obtainable regarding new tools and treatments.
Research being done at the ADD Center at HJD/NYU
At the HJD/NYU center for ADD several projects are currently being conducted or planned. Some of the projects are:
- Trial (placebo-controlled) of a new Dopamine and Norepinephrine Re-uptake Inhibitor for adults suffering from ADD.
- Occurrence of ADD among patients suffering from Panic Disorder vs. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, with assistance of a prominent medical center in New York.
- Use of pre pulse reticence of startle amplitudes and startle for diagnosing and measuring level of response of patients to treatment for ADD.
- Occurrence and treatment of sleep disturbances among ADD patients for whom stimulants are being used for treatment.
