    ALCOHOL ABUSE

The most difficult disorder to cure or heal is addiction to substance as this obsession with substance is a persistent and a successive disorder. In other words, it will be more difficult for you to beat it if you are still addicted to it for along time. Alcoholism is one such example of this kind of addiction. It is a disorder where a person tends to drink large amount of ethyl alcohol in the form of alcoholic beverages.

    Cause and signs and symptoms

A number of researches on alcoholism reported that various factors can lead to such disorder and some of such factors are social, physiological, genetic or psychological. Researches have also proved that in order to rid themselves of emotional and psychological stress, some people resort to alcohol. When a person resorts to alcohol for an extended period of time then he will ultimately start to depend on it. This will cause alcoholism.

There are normally four well-known symptoms of alcoholism. Craving for alcohol is the first symptom where a person has a very strong desire to consume alcohol. Loss of control over alcohol is the second symptom. Here a person realizes that he is unable to stop himself from drinking once he begins to drink alcohol. Physical dependence will be the third symptoms where withdrawal symptoms will take place if a person does not drink. This symptom will include nervousness and nausea. Tolerance will be the fourth symptom where a person will drink an increasing amount of alcohol to reach the desired mood-altering effect.

    Few effects and treatment

The main worry of the alcoholic will be to have the next drink of alcohol and nothing more. This will be the consequence of alcohol dependence. A number of emotional, physical and psychological effects will be the result of this and such effects will have to be dealt with. The most common physical effect will be that a person will be at risk of liver disease. The effects that are psychological and emotional in nature will include detaching one self from the people around him. This will lead to reduction in efficiency and sever of ties from his family, friends and colleagues. Undergoing a rehabilitation program in a rehabilitation clinic is considered to be one of the most helpful treatments for alcoholism. This treatment normally begins with detoxifying the alcohol, therapy and other kinds of cure.

Alcohol abuse or dependence is a very destructive and dangerous disorder, which is persistent and progressive in nature. As such, it is essential that you recognize this disorder through its signs and symptoms as early as possible in order to overcome the addiction for alcohol.
