ALTERNATIVE BOARDING SCHOOL FOR TROUBLED TEENS

Most of the local schools which are conventional, neither accept teenagers who are troubled, nor are they actually equipped to handle them, especially the ones with emotional and behavioral problems.  For those teenagers who have such problems, and for those with alcohol and drug abuse, there are special boarding schools.  These boarding schools help these troubled adolescents to cope with their problems and make progress with their academics.  They offer a safe environment to these teenagers, and especially concentrate on their behavioral and emotional problems.

These alternative boarding schools also help other children who display difficulties in a conventional school.

These alternative boarding schools are recognized academically.  They are better prepared than conventional schools to deal with the complicated personal problems that these teenagers have, by way of consistent help either individually or to a group.  In these alternative boarding schools, the troubled teenagers are kept busy with various activities, which also inculcate in them a better way of life.  Some of these alternate boarding schools are quite similar to conventional ones, the only difference is that they have a more organized and regulated environment.  Therapy and counseling is provided.  Teenagers are encouraged to pursue activities, which are creative and bring out the positive aspect of their personality and help them to achieve their goals

Teenagers are taught to enhance their self esteem.  They are also taught about the effect of their behavior and decisions on their own lives.  It is certain that, within a short time, the troubled teenagers who attend such programs will make a progress in their academic work, and change their approach towards life.
