ALTERNATIVE COUNSELING

Special boarding schools are there to help teenagers with problems like drug and alcohol abuse, depression, eating and conduct disorders, behavioral problems, learning disabilities, ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder), suicidal tendency, pregnancy, stress, bullying, violence etc. These special boarding schools tackle the problems of these teenagers through therapeutic programs like counseling, therapy, personality developing workshops and other such activities. These schools endeavor to help the troubled student by making him realize that there are others with similar problems.  With the assistance of his family and the faculty it is possible to change his life for the better.

  There are religious, military and private boarding schools, which address the needs of these troubled teenagers.

Based on the requirement of the troubled teens, these boarding schools have different programs of different duration, ranging from a few months to a few years.  While maintaining a normal academic background, they have a much smaller student teacher ratio.  This enables them to give more attention to these troubled teens.  They also have special programs which target and deal with these teenagers’ problems.
