Residential treatment centers offering therapy-based solution can be the best choice for disturbed teens stressed with depression, drug abuse or other severe matters. Complete psychiatric staffs are available at these residential treatment centers to keep an eye on troubled teens and give therapy along with academic curriculum, personal development and exercise. These programs usually last for three to six months but troubled teens can stay for longer if they are in need of it. It provides 24 hours of supervision, structure and treatment.
After the treatment, teens should have structured and a supportive homes. For this, these centers have programs for families also so that they can identify issues and provide a better-customized atmosphere for the teen.
Residential treatment centers are generally of three types: residential drug treatment centers, therapeutic treatment programs, and combination residential-treatment programs. Each of the centers has the motive to help troubled teens and overcome their specific or several problems. Psychiatric or suicidal issues of the teens are dealt with therapeutic treatment programs whereas help on drug abuse and its addiction is offered by residential drug treatment. Both psychiatric and drug abuse matters are taken care by the combination residential treatment.
A dramatic and negative shock on the entire family can be caused by a troubled teen, but those parents who act positively and give appropriate treatment can notice the improvement by these solutions, in the relationship between their child and themselves.
My BrotherReply to this Comment
My brother is homeless and I don't have a way to take care of him. His mother is a very violent alcoholic. She has been diagnosed to be aggressive bipolar. I wanted to know a little about group homes. He needs a place to stay, and he needs counseling. But, I don't have the money. Can anyone give me any advice on how to help my brother find a safe place to stay where he can get counseling on anger management and how to deal with our horribly violent and neglectful past? Thanks to all of you that care enough to respond.
