ADHD Reply to this Comment Joannie I have some advice. ADHD is a hormone imbalance. Look for an Alternative Health Dr. Western Medicine is not educated in helping people find or cure. Western medicine is only about putting a bandaid on the situation. I can help you if you want. Norma Add and Bed wetting Reply to this Comment My son now 15 had the same problem. Come to find out he is ADD and could not wake up his brain to make it to the bathroom in the middle of the night. His father was that way too as a youngster. At around age 8 or 9 he grew out of it. Now we have to give him his Adderall in the morning 30 minutes before he is to get up to wake his brain up. Greetings, I have ADHD among alot of other.. Reply to this Comment Greetings, I have ADHD amongst alot of other disabilitys. OCD, ODD, TS(Tour-restts), Aspurgers, are a few of them. I do not bother keeping track of them anymore I usta beable to list them off but I these days leave that to my mother. I was first dignosed with ADHD when I was in 1st grade I beleive. From reading one of my mothers reports off of her computer. Anyways, I was put on Riddelin when it started to couse me more probs. I was taken off that and put on hunderds of differant drugs afterwords, experimental and others. I eventaully when I became of age said no more I quit. The Dr told my folks that if I felt I could cope in the world then fine. So, I stopped taking anything. I also, do not trust tharipists I found one person I could talk too. But, I quit going to her after awhile I do not quite remember why. I now am having probs very big probs in my relationship and I am rethinking meds but nothing ever works and when it does they change it. I do not want to be doped up just wanting to get the meds to fix the probs we are having. I do beleive that it may be all the meds I was thrown on's falt. I have an extreamlly horrible memory and am also told I often hear the wrong words. We would get into huge fights because I say he did not say something even if he said it two mins beforehand. No matter how hard I try to remember. I also often say he says saomething eventhough there are witnesses saying otherwise. We fight because, I mean if you heard something and someone says otherwise, I mean it does not change the fact that you heard it. Saying he said something else. I try so hard. We were to be married until I postponed it because I foundout I was pregnant. Did not want to get married when I was pregnant. Anyways, I was wondering if anyone our there knows why I may hear the wrong word? Or, not hear something eventhough I make it an effort to hear it? You see, I try and I try and I do not know what to do anymore. If there is anyone out there that can help me. Please let me know. Thank you. ADD Effexor Reply to this Comment Stay away from Effexor. It does not help AD/HD. It will make you very sleepy and sick. It only helps people with insomnia. If you truly have AD/HD stick with Concerta or Adderall for a while and play with the doses. Some of these people may also have mood disorders or mild bipolar. Depakote can work wonders (and gets rid of migraines by the way). Also, you need to be working on yourself while on these meds. Read, read, read.... If you can't read then get books on mp3 and listen in your car. AD/HD behavior Reply to this Comment All parents of children with AD/HD: ALWAYS use a behavior chart with you children along with the medication treatment. I find them very affective with students at my schools. Also, I use Russell Barkley's Daily Behavior Report Card system. It works great when done properly. Ritalin Reply to this Comment I'm also an adult with AD(H)D. I've been on just about every kind of 'script Amphetamine they perscribe for it (have so since I was 8). And I can tell you from personal experience that your tolerence for Ritalin will build up fast, and you could end up going right into "Zombie Mode" every time you take it. Personally I recommend Dexedrine. It's older, stronger, and far more reliable. Oh and don't let 'em snake you into Adderall. All Adderall is is basically the identical chemical compound as Dexedrine (look it up), whose manufacturer over charges for it. Just my 2cents. What is this product? Reply to this Comment I saw your comment about this wonderful natural product for A.D.H.D. I have a friend that has a 4 year old son, and He absoulutly Hates anything to do with structure, routine, ect... Maybee this can help him. my email address is Inythngbtordnary@aol.com ADHD Reply to this Comment so i need help im 15 and i think i have ADHD and i think ive had it for a very long time, alot of my friends think i have to go see a doctor or something ive wetted my bed when i was 5-9,im not focused at all,i stop paying attention very quickly i dont know how to explain this to my mom what can i do about this? ADHD Reply to this Comment Many bedwetters are misdiagnosed with ADD/ADHD. Symptoms of a bedwetter’s deep sleep disorder, such as the inability to stay focused or to concentrate, are almost identical to those of ADD/ADHD. For 32 years, the Enuresis Treatment Center has successfully treated thousands of people from around the world by correcting an unhealthy deep sleep pattern. One this pattern is corrected, the bedwetting is permanently resolved, and the ADD/ADHD symptoms often abate. The Enuresis Treatment Center has put together an informative guide to understanding and treating bedwetting. This free bedwetting guide is available to download at www.freebedwettingguide.com many disorders Reply to this Comment My psych left me too. I called my insurance and they gave me numbers of some that were taking clients and i called them and told them my background and they all said they weren't the right doctors for me. It was very uppseting because i felt rejected from psychs. I ended up getting in trouble with the law by self medicating myself with marijuana. So It was a bummer because really I would have love to have my meds. New Perspectives accepted me so that was great. I have my first session in two weeks. Hopefully it goes well. adhd Reply to this Comment My son is 17, he has adhd and mood disorder, He seems to be better at times, but then something or someone might trigger him. He needs a one on one counselor. Know of any? He lives in Il. 25 min. from chicago. adhd Reply to this Comment My son is 17, he has adhd and mood disorder, He seems to be better at times, but then something or someone might trigger him. Adult adhd Reply to this Comment I am working in a feild where admitting I have had this problem since (as long as I can remember) has sort of hamstringed me. I am in ministry and to admit I have a problem is taboo (so to speak) I work for a small rural church and I have no medical insurance bur I am willing to try to pay cash if there is some way I can get medical help. I am tired of putting things off to the last minute and scrambling to try and slam things together in the last minutes. Especially since matters of the soul are concerned. ADHD Reply to this Comment People think that ADHD just means that your hyper all the time can't do anything normally but the problem isn't the disorder its the meds there are so many that it causes so many different effects within the human brain that doctors don't know if theres even any progress to make plus adding in the stress of the evry day world and you've got a major issue. Thats why I'm thinking about checking myself into a rehab center to deal with my problem and hopefully keep from killing myself. I 've also been on Adderall for 6 years and recentlly stopped taking it 2 years ago but I still suffer side effects to this day. I dont think the adhd is the only to blame. ADHD Reply to this Comment I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was 7 years old. I am now 21, soon to be 22 in may. I am a college senior with a lot going on, plus added personal life stress. I've tried ritalin, and adderall and I'm now on Strattera. Last spring I did horribly in school, and when my friends approached me about it, they said I had been displaying more ADHD symptoms that semester than normal. So this past summer I went to my doctor and went from 60 mg to 80 mg. I'm still stressed, and this new dosage is helping some, but now I feel that more medication will not help me any further. I think I need therapy, and while my university provides a few free sessions a year, I am not confidant that they can help me work with my ADHD so that I can finish college, not to mention the real world. I'm on studant insurance currently, and I don't have a lot of money, but I feel as if I really need this extra help. I don't know where nor how to go about finding a special therapist. Nor do I know if I can even really afford it. I've been feeling rather lost and defeated lately, and I would really appreciate your advice. | ||||||||
