He is in a treatment center and i would like to talk with him, is this possible during his time in the treatment center? addicts Reply to this Comment you cant help her she is the only one who can help her self, sorry but its a fact your probably hurting more than she does you just keep beating yourself up and running into the same wall you need to step back and let her fall on her face alone then maybe shell come to you for some help ...... unsure Reply to this Comment my dad does drugs and drinks .. like he doesnt drink all the time but when he does hes verbally and phsyically abusive. i would call the police in my town but they dont do anything because they are his friends. even when my dad is sober he would be verbally abusive. ive resulted to drugs, cutting, and alcohol. i understand its not the best but i dont know what else to do. im about to turn 16 and my boyfriend will be turning 18 but he lives with his aunt because he was bad when he was around my age so his mom couldnt handle him, but ive spoken to my boyfriends aunt and she told me she'll take me in and let my dad emmancipate me untill he seeks help. basically its like i live with them but i dont know .. can someone please help me ?? alcoholic father Reply to this Comment im sure that you have done all that you could to try and help your father and get him to stop drinking, but i believe that is all you can do. He needs to want to quit on his own by his own decisions. It will definately be very hard for you to sit there and have to see what your father is putting himself through but i think youve probably done your part! good luck! =D my cousin drinking Reply to this Comment he liked the taste and now is in the hospital. he wanted to go to partys and get drunk.but i think he's getting better. got Jesus? Reply to this Comment I began drinking & drugging when I was 11. Growing up with alcoholic, very young parents in NYC - I could find a lot of excuses...But I'm a parent myself now, and after @ 15 years of using alcohol, pot, crystal, coke - you name it- I AM SAVED! I pray for those who are still lost, and work with my church family & Celebrate Recovery to reach out to those who seem to have no hope - where I have been, and will never forget! God's Grace is sufficient for you, too! Has the coverage for any type of help BUT refuses to go, refuses to leave her parents home, stays in a filthy bedroom, she made this way, hates people and won't listen to her parents. can she be involuntary committed. Parents have attended alanon and are in counseling to deal with her. lies, self imposed isolation in the bedroom, no friends. parents have offered an apt. and NOW demand she get an apt and JOB, and they will pay. she still refuses to leave. any advice for NH 22 yo? most has been "it's her problem", leave her alone. shut the door, ignore her. any sound advise? restraining order? legal help? pink slip to committ? she's zoned or passed out most days. her boyfriend drinks with her and thinks nothing is wrong. alcohol Reply to this Comment addiction sucks!!!!bottom line i am on my way to an inpaitent rehab today for the second time yes...im having a scotch right now (6:00 am)i was sober for 18 mos and was sooooo happy but the bottle is so much stronger than i am all i can say to those of you out there dealing with a drunk like me is be strong for them i'm not trying to be whah waha whah...believe me all the alcoholics you are talking about know they have a problem they admit it to themselves daily just not to those trying to help we are great at denial, lying and not admitting anything i want to be sober again and with the support of family and friends and YOU i will be i know its a bitch dealing with a drunk but all we need is support to get better i'll help Reply to this Comment meet me at mercy farnklin at 5:25 i can point u in the right drection your welcom Alcoholic Mom Reply to this Comment I want to get custody back of my 4 year old daughter. I cannot afford councel. I have done all the court has asked and have not seen my daughter in 4 months. Thank you! alcoholic father Reply to this Comment My dad is 39 years old and he drinks wayy too much. when he drinks he gets violent towards my step mother he beats her in front of me and he needs help. he went to jail for child support and was there for 5 months he stoped drinking alot but i am afraid that he will start drinking again. | ||||||||
