God's help              Reply to this Comment
I wonder why you want a program that is non-Christian but pray to God for your son. Seems like a contradiction to me. Either you want God's help or you don't.

Doctors and Oxycontin              Reply to this Comment
I understand what you are saying about Doctors prescribing drugs, my husband was prescribed at least 8000 oxycontin pills in the last 3 years and it has almost destroyed our lifes we were once a happy family, now all he does is sit around and feel sorry for himself, Thankfully his job got him into rehab, but i just pray that it works because i cannot go on living the life that this has become. If he doesn't stay clean I will have too leave him, because this is not life it is existing, and i wonder what kind of Doctor would prescribe that many pills and why he would be allowed to prescribe that many in such a short period of time because that is more than most people would take in a lifetime.

Pain Killers              Reply to this Comment
I have found myself going to the er telling them that I am in pain just to get pain killers so I can get my kicks from it, Am I at the start of something? What can I do to stop it?

    oxycodine              Reply to this Comment
Maybe you should talk to a lawyer I believe that they cannot perscribe that many in that short of a time period. Plus I know what your husband is going threw with out you he might go back to his old ways. Be strong and help him by being there for him.

its ok               Reply to this Comment
hey thats a good question but no they do not they are not allowed by law now what could happen is that they might not except your friend but they are niot allowed to report him take it from me i know all about that first hand iif i was him i would tell his agent i have never heard of them putting anyone back in jail who wants and needs help they might even help him to get into treatment if he is honest thats always the best way to go plus what you do in the dark will always come to the light

I dont know how it works where your form. Your brother could go to social services are get funding for a rehab or go to the hospital and detox they will give him a social worker to talk to that can help him get in a rehab center. If the fails at the hopital treat to kill himself if he dont get help.

    Narconon              Reply to this Comment
Narconon is a system that focuses on nutrition and steam baths (indian style maybe?) to cleanse the body. I have heard that Narconon is rumored to be associated with Scientology. Check into it. Regarding 12 step vs Christian focused programs, the statistics are pretty clear, participants at out to 5 years clean, 12 step programs provide the highest percentages of ongoing sobriety. Ask around about Narconon and get unbiased feedback. Don't count on individuals solely associated with Narconon, this applies to any other program as well. Make informed decisions. Given your son has been to so many programs, like myself, I might suggest a long term therapeutic community focusing on behavior modification. Big TC's like Daytop Village in NY, Newbridge Foundation in Northern California, Walden House in San Francisco. If your son is under 18, your income will be used to determine fees, if he is over 18 and indigent, county funded programs which will be low cost, have some of the best statistics. Good Luck.

Low cost programs in Indiana              Reply to this Comment
You can find a huge database of licensed drug and alcohol programs at the following website maintained by SAMHSA, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (fed government). You can search by state , city, or county, There will be listed low cost residential drug rehabilitation centers.

Addict on parole              Reply to this Comment
Most programs due to confidentiality CANNOT go to the police unless certain crimes have occurred within the facility. Some programs will NOT take individuals that have current cases pending. Generally, if you are on parole, the program will require you to report to your parole agent so they avoid aiding and abetting a parolee absconding. I have never heard of a parole agent removing an addict from a program, if the addict has self referred, and is not suspected of other crimes. This person should be more afraid of continuing as he is, he will most certainly end up being found in violation of parole sooner or later. If he is not reporting to avoid providing a urine sample, the PA already knows what is going on. THis person should detox, enter a program, and report to his PA as soon as possible.

help for drug rehab              Reply to this Comment
if you truely want help go to an inpatient facility and do not leave after 28 days, stay in the facility that has the longest program inpatient stay. Let your boyfriend take care of his own addiction. Both can benefit by talking to others openly and freely without eachother there. If he cares he will get help and wait for you.
