Group homes/ the system Reply to this Comment I was in group homes growing up as a kid. I was placed in my first group home at 9 years old. Prior to that, I was in and out of mental hospital from age 6 to 9. What the hell is a six year old in a mental hospital for?In and out of the system is what I did from ages 6- 18. And how did the "courts" see it would help, oh yeah that's right they have trained staff members to makae the kids lives a living nightmare. 24-7 the make everything a schedule. All group homes do to the kids is get them ready for a long twisted path of a downward spiral to ruin their lives. Oh and then the system will go after your parent/s for child support, since the system is taking care of them. FUCK THAT BULLSHIT never alone Reply to this Comment anyone have any info? I do the things i do because im sick of my parents controlling everything i do. they thing that if i mess up that they need to take controll and really they dont, they as parents need to allow us as teens that are about to trun into adults to make our on decsions in life. the more they try to controll the worse we act. And parents showing that you care doesnt me you controll your teens life. by sending your teens to a group home is just another way of showing you are in controll of their lifes and most likely when they get out of that group home they will go right back to the way they were before need help Reply to this Comment im living in arizona. And me and my parents arent getting along any more and they are looking for some where to send me to. i dont want to move schools again im a jr in high school and i have already been to 5 different schools. i have never gone to the same school for a hole year. what can i do??????? were can i go????? i will be 18 in 6 months can i do anything???? to the mom of the son Reply to this Comment I know what your going through my son is 20 and doing the same things ... i'm in Pa and in the process of trying to get him to go to a place by monday . Good friends of mine just lost their son last weekend to drugs, he signed himself out of a rehab and did drugs and never woke up the next morning he was also 20 and we have known them and him since our boys were in tiger cubs ........ contact me if u want to talk @ char325@ptd.net. Teens are products of their home environment just as kindergarteners. There are no bad kids just bad parents. And many times bad parents came from bad parent or parents. GROW UP AND STOP THE CYCLE. The Article of Corporation has been completed and NBYFS is a program for trouble teens and families. I work fukk time and it has been difficult working and writing a buisness plan. I am looking for one or two serious minded people who are familar with group home, comunity support services, teen emergency shelter who might be interested in doing their own thing. Than at the age of 15 decided you wanted to live with your real father, grandma says no way. She would just assume put me in a group home than let me live with my real father. She needs to realize I want to please myself rather than keep pleasing her. It doesnt mean I love her any less. I have an idea to run a group home for foster children not teens as a business.
