I was in group homes growing up as a kid. I was placed in my first group home at 9 years old. Prior to that, I was in and out of mental hospital from age 6 to 9. What the hell is a six year old in a mental hospital for?In and out of the system is what I did from ages 6- 18. And how did the "courts" see it would help, oh yeah that's right they have trained staff members to makae the kids lives a living nightmare. 24-7 the make everything a schedule. All group homes do to the kids is get them ready for a long twisted path of a downward spiral to ruin their lives. Oh and then the system will go after your parent/s for child support, since the system is taking care of them. FUCK THAT BULLSHIT

i'm 18 be 19 in january and my life is all mixed up. i jus need a nice place to go and get AWAY FROM HOME for awhile, i been staying at a friends for awhile and i feel she DEPENDS on me for way to much i dont no what to tell her dont get along wit my mom i cant trust NONE of my close friends i wuz in gilfillan treatment in bemidji for so long and there are'nt people like that where i live if any body has any advise for me please email me www.ptownangel2986@yahoo.com PLEASE i jus dont know what to do with my life any more

You are so wrong about 'we are what are parents made use be. I do the things i do because im sick of my parents controlling everything i do. they thing that if i mess up that they need to take controll and really they dont, they as parents need to allow us as teens that are about to trun into adults to make our on decsions in life. the more they try to controll the worse we act. And parents showing that you care doesnt me you controll your teens life. by sending your teens to a group home is just another way of showing you are in controll of their lifes and most likely when they get out of that group home they will go right back to the way they were before

im living in arizona. And me and my parents arent getting along any more and they are looking for some where to send me to. i dont want to move schools again im a jr in high school and i have already been to 5 different schools. i have never gone to the same school for a hole year. what can i do??????? were can i go????? i will be 18 in 6 months can i do anything????

I know what your going through my son is 20 and doing the same things ... i'm in Pa and in the process of trying to get him to go to a place by monday . Good friends of mine just lost their son last weekend to drugs, he signed himself out of a rehab and did drugs and never woke up the next morning he was also 20 and we have known them and him since our boys were in tiger cubs ........ contact me if u want to talk @ char325@ptd.net. it's terrible that u would cut on teens. obviously you are not a parent or if you are u'r not a good one. Teens are products of their home environment just as kindergarteners. There are no bad kids just bad parents. And many times bad parents came from bad parent or parents. GROW UP AND STOP THE CYCLE.

i understand how you feel about your parents but they dont make you all that way society and the pitfalls of the system do you find too many people who are in the field just for a job but some of us care about the children they work with,so some of you end up feeling the way you do but when parents are helplees to help you that is where all the problems actually increase, I hope you can get the help you need but try to find someone who truly cares and tal;k to them

There must be a half-way house in Austin where females can go to after treatment. We have them in Des Moines, IA. Sometimes through your hospital's social worker; they can be of assistance.

If you did everything to please someone else. Than at the age of 15 decided you wanted to live with your real father, grandma says no way. She would just assume put me in a group home than let me live with my real father. She needs to realize I want to please myself rather than keep pleasing her. It doesnt mean I love her any less.

I was a foster parent for 2years. I have an idea to run a group home for foster children not teens as a business. I havent heard of anything on this. or if I am headed in the right direction. if any one has any ideas or suggestions.
