Daughter-Brandi              Reply to this Comment
Brandi is almost 40. She has been an alcoholic and substance user wether it be legal or illegal. I have raised her daughter, who is now 18.I have been through hell with Brandi ,trying in the past to help her and have spent time and money doing so.Now she calls me saying she's going to Gateway for help. I want Brandi clean and sober she use to be such a sweet person, very giving, but she fell into drugs, alcohol and what ever else and is now wanting more help,I'm almost 60 myself and can't seem to get over excited about this but feel somewhat still responsible for her. But I am not able to do one thing for her that I have not done in the past. So what do I do for her?, there's so much hurt from the things concerning her daughter, is there really a hope for her in this place, she's always left them in the past never staying long enough to get over anything, then repeats it all over again, its a cycle that has been going own for 20 years. I feel like I need to stay away and let Brandi do this herself then maybe she will come out of this, proud of herself for doing this without help from family. I fell like when I have helped her in the past I get slapped in the face later. I pray Gateway does help her she's at the bottom with nothing but the clothes on her back. Gateway people like Brandi need more time than 30 days, she needs a lot of help, people concerned and qualified to help, and really cares. Not this in and out crap that does nothing, I beg you to try harder for these young ones that are being destroyed. Give us hope Concerned Mother

YOU ARE RIGHT!!              Reply to this Comment
You have done all you can. I am a 40 yr. old who has a sister that keeps overdosing on pills and i am s worn out that my body is so weak and my heart is ripped to shreds. She just dont listen to us. And ur neering 60!! Let her go until she wakes up and sees the light, which that day may never come. Just know that you have done enough...keep her daughter from turning out like her.
