A lot of help from the therapists my brother was seeing in Michigan.....after repeated suicide attempts, he succeeded, even after having been hospitalized, arrested with a loaded gun, after the police said to have him involuntarily committed, not one person would help. Now he is gone, his daughter has lost her daddy, our parents have lost their youngest son, we have lost a brother. And all that I am reading says that alcohol exacerbated the situation, he was diagnosed as being bi-polar, but even the probate court in his county wouldn't help have him committed. Don't let anyone tell you it cannot be done. Check the NAMI website...the form is there. Each state has different laws, but if someone is in danger of committing suicide, don't ignore the signs, don't let the doctors tell you it isn't a problem, don't let the courts tell you that there is nothing that can be done about it.
