    Definitions of Treatment Services
DUI/DWI offenders- Drunk driving is a serious offense and the consequences of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol are become quite severe. According to the state in which the offense is committed, DUI/DWI offenders can get off with just a warning, may lose their driver’s license, or might even serve time in prison.
Medicaid- The term Medicaid often evokes stares of bewilderment from many and is easily confused with other medical assistance services with similar names. Simply put, Medicaid is a program that pays for medical assistance for certain individuals and families with low incomes and resources.
Medicare- In the United States, politicians debated for decades on how to best provide a nationwide health insurance program for its elderly citizens. Though discussion began as early as 1912 and the first health insurance bill was introduced to congress in 1935, it wasn’t until 1965 that President Lyndon B. Johnson signed a bill to establish what we now know as Medicare.
Mental health services- The surgeon general definition of mental health is: “The successful performance of mental function, resulting in productive activities, fulfilling relationships with other people, and the ability to adapt to change and to cope with adversity; from early childhood until late life, mental health is the springboard of thinking and communication skills, learning, emotional growth, resilience, and self esteem.” Mental health services are any service that helps a person obtain these abilities.
Military insurance (e.g., VA, TRICARE)- The United States military has always assumed the important task of taking care of its own by providing military insurance for health care purposes for active-duty members as well as veterans. Through enrollment in these programs, some similar to private health insurance policies, members or former members of the armed forces are guaranteed low-cost medical care.
Outpatient- Outpatient drug rehabilitation means that a person does not live in the facility for treatment, but come to the facility for classes, visits with specialists or group meetings. Outpatient drug rehabilitation centers are more long-term and patients can attend programs for as long as needed. A variety of techniques and program intensity levels are used to achieve this goal.
Private health insurance- Securing private health insurance can be confusing, especially if you’re not covered by your employer or if the employer offers a number of options from which to choose. Determining which plans are best for you and/or your family is difficult.
Sliding fee scale (Fee is based on income and other factors.)- For many individuals who suffer mental health problems, the cost of receiving proper counseling or therapy prohibits them from seeking the help that they so greatly need. Throughout the past several decades, the cost of mental health treatment has skyrocketed and more and more individuals suffer from lack of proper therapy.
Substance abuse treatment- Substance abuse treatment is often individualized to each patient, but there are a few steps that each patient needs to take to become drug free. The first of these steps in recognizing the problem. Denial used to be mistakenly believed to be part of the drug addiction symptoms, but recent research is showing it is not. People trying to help a person accept that they have a substance abuse problem need to show empathy, and respect.

Disgusted and most disappointment              Reply to this Comment
Good after noon all , my name is Ro9xanne Lloyd- Bey . Last week I had an experience with the Behavior clinic which no one should ever have to go through . In my attempt to make an appointment for my depression , I was told that a prescreening was required . That posed no problem for me .. until I was asked for my social security number by Amy .I expressed that I was not comftable giving a stranger my entire number , yet I was willing to giving her the last four digits . Mind you .. there was something very condacending about her attitude toward me .. and my gut feeling was to ask for someone else .Ultimately I continued the interview . Once she begun asking for specifics and fine details , which I felt wasn't apart of the process ... knowing from prior experience that upon my physical arrival a whole slew of paper work would be required anyway . In essence my gut feeling was that she was attempting to give me a hard time . I asked to speak to her supervisor Maryanne .. who called me back the next day . When I expressed to her my experience with Amy emphasising that she made me uncomftable and that there seemed to be an under lying situation , and my requesting to interview with someone else ... not only did she co sign Amy's behavior and her professionalism , she insisted that I MUST continue with her . Even when I assured her that I'd be willing to start the interview process from the bebining she still wanted to throw this rude and crude woman at me . Feeling at that point that this two were best friends , I called back asking to speak to the director . Doreen Bobby was the person I spoke with . She assured me that she would handle the situation and that there would be No need to write to the board of directors , which by now was my intention . I had the opportunity to interview with Sarah ..I must say that it was indeed a pleasant experience . She set my appointment up for today July 14th at 2:30 . On July 13th I received a confirmational call from No other than Amy .Here it is that I've spoken with several administratives , clearly expressing that this woman was not nice to me , yet they continue to THROW this woman at me . What is this about . Needless to say , I called Doreen left her a message , which she claims she never received , after waiting for a response I called her back . I must say what a difference a day makes .She went from an apoligatic director to you are bothering me !!!!! I could Not believe how A, her whole persona changed and B , how she seemingly could not understand my position . All awhile , please keep in mind that I am calling your organization to address my depression issues . She sees NOTHING WRONG with Amy calling me . Further more , because that is the access department , which simply means that every time one needs to make an appointment , or to confirm one, Amy if not instructed otherwise would call me ! As an executive why would you allow this to happen . In conjunction with that , today was a weather watch in Bergen county , I canceled with Doreen ... who I might say , told me " We can't continue changing your appointments " . First cancellation , a weather watch is in affect , and you say that to me . Now I am really angry ..I speak to Peter Scurvel , yet another Director , who also saw nothing wrong with A - Z interms of the handling of this situation . My question is , Is this a family organization ? I need to throw this out there , tyruely in my heart of hearts I do believe if I were a caucasian woman , I would not be writting this . Please somebody tell me how would you feel !!! Totally disgusted would not recommend this institute to a PIG !!!!!!!!!!!!

YOUR PART              Reply to this Comment
It sounds like you need help with depression and did not get the treatment you wanted. Treatment meaning the way Amy treated you. Often when a person is depressed we become hyper-protective and sometimes read into others words. I know this because I have been in your shoes (being depressed and defensive) It sounds like you are not looking at your part in this situation. You cannot control what people say, it sounds like she was doing her job. When we start reading people’s minds and hearts we end up only hurting ourselves as well as being (sorry) a jerk. You stated you were uncomfortable, truly why? Look deeper into you rather than pointing your finger to blame others for your situation. Stop making more problems for yourself, or maybe you like the chaos. Honestly you sound like you wanted to be coddled at an inappropriate time.. . I suggest you look at your behavior and your defensiveness before you mess with hurting other.
